Freestanding heaters produce slightly more heat than in-built heaters, as they radiate heat from every side of the device. They’re also generally more affordable than in-built heaters due to their simpler installation process, giving you the freedom to choose the best location for your heater.
In-built heaters are a good choice if you have an existing brick chimney in your home or you prefer the sleek, classic aesthetic of an in-built fireplace. In-built heaters also have the same timeless, elegant feel as a traditional fireplace and won’t interfere with the existing layout of your space like a freestanding heater.

Are Saxon heaters environmentally friendly?
Saxon heaters are one of the most environmentally-friendly options for wood heaters if you’re looking to keep emissions down in your home.
According to NSW heater emissions standards, all solid-fuel heaters (including wood heaters) must produce no more than 1.5g of emissions per kilogram of material burnt. Saxon wood heaters exceed this standard and produce only 0.5g/kg emissions.
