Kent fireplaces combine luxurious comfort with modern, environmentally-conscious innovations
By partnering with Landcare Australia, Kent has delivered consistently low emissions across its range of premium wood heaters and fireplaces.
Kent uses strict, comprehensive testing to ensure all its products meet the national standards for energy emissions — in Australia, heaters need to comply with joint Australian/New Zealand standards 4013/4012 for efficiency and emissions. Kent heaters exceed this standard, making them ideal for eco-conscious Australian homes.
Heaters like the Kent Calisto Medium Insert Wood Heater meet the Australian national standard of 1.5g of particle emissions released per kilogram.
When you purchase a Kent wood heater, you’re choosing a quality heating solution that prioritises clean burning.
FAQs about Kent fireplaces and heaters
What’s the difference between a traditional fireplace and a Kent wood heater?
“Fireplace” and “wood heater” are often used interchangeably to describe indoor heating solutions. Functionally speaking, traditional fireplaces and wood heaters serve the same purpose: they add heat to your home by safely burning wood.
The main difference between the two is that a fireplace is typically a structure made of brick, stone or metal, whereas a wood heater is an appliance constructed from multiple separate parts. While wood heaters can be installed into an existing fireplace structure, they can also be used as a standalone appliance; fireplaces have to be inserted into your home, giving you less flexibility.
Wood heaters are generally more efficient at heating a home depending on their size as a lot of the heat produced by traditional fireplaces will go up the flue rather than warming your home. Kent fireplaces are specifically designed to be more energy-efficient than traditional fireplaces and other wood heaters on the market.
